Hairstyle Inspiration: Hair off of the face

In this post, Valentina D’ Angela would like to discuss styles which pull most of the hair away or off of the face. Styles that pull hair off of the face can be sculpted around the face and head shape to compliment all types of face shapes. When playing with styles that pull hair off of the face, it is important to pay attention to the silhouette of the head shape. For instance, if someone has a more prominent chin, it may be necessary to create more height and volume near the forehead to create balance in the head shape. These types of styles accentuate jaw lines, and beautiful facial features, such as lips and eyebrows. These types of styles can appear very classic and elegant or creative and loose. We would like to share some of our favorite inspiration photos:

Chic Bridal Styles Cont.

This week we want to highlight some elegant touches that are sure to create a stunning vintage style. We like to use soft accents, which boast an aura of femininity. Please enjoy!

 The Hair

Girl with bridal hairstyle and makeupBride. Golden Hair Female with Red Flower. Platinum Necklace

The hair for this type of look can be worn up or down, but we have chosen to highlight these beautiful up-styles because of their adaptability when working with all different textures and densities of hair. Soft curls are strategically pinned to showcase the shape of the curl pattern. We love the accent hairpiece placed asymmetrically, although this style is beautiful with birdcage and traditional veils as well.

The Makeup

Soft makeup

Beautiful soft pinks and oranges for the lips and cheeks, and neutral tones on the eyes keep this look soft and natural. The rose colored lip looks beautiful with ivory wedding gowns.

 The Dress

Lace and ivory detail

An easy way to achieve a vintage feel to your bridal style? Lace! We love gowns and veils that are accented with lace trim, or in the case of the photo, gowns made completely of lace. Trumpet style gowns are a popular cut for this look also.

 The Flowers

Beautiful Bouquet

When designing a bouquet to fit you vintage style, be creative! Ask your florist to help you choose a variety of flowers that will compliment one another. We like pale colors in vintage style bouquets. Think pale greens, soft pinks and oranges, and lilac/lavender tones.

Chic Bridal Styles

Wedding styles are not a one-size-fits-all kind of affair. The key to designing a beautiful bridal look is to take influence from the styles that the bride naturally gravitates towards, and incorporate tasteful touches of their style into a look that compliments the brides’ desired features. These features can include the dress, a piece of jewelry, the hair, or even a bold lip. Please enjoy this beautiful, natural bridal look.

The Hair

Natural Hairstyle

We love this soft, effortless style. The model is wearing a center-part in the hair, but using a side-part or no-part is an option as well. You could dress these curls up a bit more, depending on the desired effect. Looser curls are more appropriate for a more relaxed feel. Recommended head dresses include, lace headbands, nature-inspired crowns, and fresh floral accents.

The Makeup

Natural makeup with a pink lip

Soft natural makeup is the best complement to this look. The hair is very soft and natural as well, so for proper balance, try playing up the eyes or lips. Staying within a neutral color palette will ensure that the makeup does not overwhelm the relaxed style of the hair.

The Dress

Natural finish dress

This dress does not offer embellishments and the overall finish on the dress is quite matte, as opposed to a satin or lace finish. These little details work harmoniously with the hair and makeup to inspire a timeless, elegant, and naturally gorgeous style.

Beautiful, simple crochet dress

This dress is simply but extremely elegant. Less is sometimes more when it comes to effortless beauty. Notice the beautiful crochet detail.

Spring 2014 Wedding: More Runway Trends

Let’s discuss some more incredible looks taking over the Spring 2014 runway. Valentina D’ Angela is going to show you how to turn these grand fashion runway hits into a reality on your special day. We love designing styles for brides! The hair, makeup, accessories, and dress should all compliment one another and create an overall look. Here are two of our favorite looks for Spring 2014.

This is an organic, enchanting, effortless type of style. The gowns are simple in shape, but little accents like the unique cuts and the placement of special adornments provide an absolutely elegant and intricate finish. Tousled curls can be left down or loosely pulled back into a low up-style, and decorated with an extravagant barrette, or jeweled headband.

This style is glamorous, sophisticated, and polished. Because of their strong dress shape, trumpet gowns accentuate this style perfectly. Their strong silhouettes and contours compliment a woman’s figure and can be paired with a hairstyle the offers similarly strong design lines. Hairstyles that have more defined silhouettes will enhance the beautiful design lines of the gown. Defined, elegant waves and polished up-styles are adorned with ornamented barrettes and combs.

Spring 2014 Wedding: Lace Gown Trends

The trends for bridal gowns in 2014 are absolutely extravagant. One of our personal favorites: lace! We are seeing lots of lace on the runway, so this week, Valentina D’ Angela would like to share with you some complimentary hair trends to pair with these beautiful gowns.

Lace is such a soft feminine fabric. It is important to not overwhelm these subtle touches of elegance. Soft curls and loosely pulled back up-styles enhance the overall look. Styles with less volume can compliment lace nicely as well.

Both of these hairstyles feature less volume, and in both of these hair styles, the point of focus is lower on the head shape. There is diversity here because this particular balance can enhance a high-class, glamorous, vintage look, or a more free-spirited, naturally elegant type of look, both of which are being seen all over the runways for Spring 2014.
